GA1.1 issue on PB12.6

I've tried to migrate the latest GA1.1 to powerbuilder 12.6(build 4091) but experiencing a crash as soon as the default app starts.
looks like it crashes executing the "other" event on dw_toolbar datawindow
Everything working fine on 12.5

Hello Crow,

Couple of things, the PBW points to targets not in the zip file and they shouldn't be. Not a big deal, but I will correct it straight away.

The other thing is that the export of the internal bitmaps is not working correctly in 12.6. I think this is the thing actually causing your issue.

Let you know how I make out on fixing it. I don't have access to PB12.6 on my personal development machine, so may take a bit.

Hello Crow,

I have access to PB12.6 4035. I was able to migrate the project and it runs. Doesn't work, but it doesn't crash either. The problem does seem to be related, at least for me, to the export of the Open! bitmap. It is bad. The header is shifted two bytes. If I edit it with a hex editor and rerun under PB12.6 4035 the toolbar does work as expected.

Will keep you posted on bitmap export issue.

In the meantime, take a look at your temp directory and see if you have an Open_125.bmp. Copy it to Open_126.bmp and see if you still get a crash.

hi Chris,
i guess you're right.. it might be relating to the latest built-in images support, cos it worked great on GA1.0 even in pb12.6

i see if i can catch up that bitmap and let you know

I knew I had read about this issue before, just took me some time to find the thread: Need to find an alternative method for exporting the bitMaps I guess. Would like one that would work for all PB versions so I don't get into maintaining multiple code sets.

I'm working on it.

Hello Crow,

Got a fix for it. I will go into GA1.2. In the meantime, I will email you the script.
